Requirements for applying to Latvian short-cycle professional higher education study programmes (EQF 5)

 

Admission to study programme is being organised on the competition basis after obtaining general secondary education. The selection criteria of the competition are the results of all passed compulsory centralised state examinations on the acquisition of general secondary education. When applying to study in English, the result of the centralised state English language examination must be at least level B2 in accordance with the language proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Admission of foreigners takes place with an additional admission examination – an interview, the aim of which is to find out the applicant’s motivation for studies.

Requirements for applying to UK professional higher education programmes (BTEC 5)

 

HOTEL SCHOOL examines the profile of potential students, assessing a person’s ability to master the BTEC programme. To be eligible, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• completed general secondary education;
• acquired professional or vocational education in the hospitality industry;
• work experience in the hospitality industry.

Students who have not previously completed a course of education in English must demonstrate English language proficiency at B2 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​or present IELTS 5.5 certificate or equivalent.

Requirements for applying to UK professional higher education programmes (BTEC 4)

To apply, a prospective student must be at least 18 years old and should have completed education at school or vocational education institution.

A language of study is English. Students who have not previously completed a course of education in English must demonstrate English language proficiency with a minimum score of 5.5 on the IELTS or equivalent; or at B2 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Admission to the education programme is possible after obtaining general secondary education. Applicants are required to know the language in which the programme is being delivered. HOTEL SCHOOL can arrange a language test in person or via Skype.

DEADLINE FOR ADMISSION:

 

Full-time studies can be started twice a year – in September and February. We invite you to apply in time, especially foreign citizens – at least 2 months in advance, because document processing takes at least 1.5 months! You can start distance learning at any time.
