I got my summer internship in Spain, Calella (near Barcelona) in a 4-star hotel Bon Repos. I really liked the internship. I got Erasmus+ scholarship and support, so my finances were good and i have free time to enjoy it. For my summer internship I got participate in a lot of events in the field of hospitality and service, learned languages and became more open-minded person. I am very grateful to HOTEL SCHOOL and Stage and GO for this great time in Spain! :)

I had my summer internship in Berlin, Germany, for two months. I was working as a breakfast waitress in 4 star hotel. My daily duties mainly included, but was not limited to - serving guests, setting up and tearing down breakfast buffet as well as laying tables for the next day. Challenge for me definitely was due to my shifts getting up really early, everyday at 4 o` clock in the morning as I was not used to such regime, however after already first week it worked out fine. As Berlin is vibrant city with rich history and specific charm I definitely recommend for everyone to use the opportunity of having an internship abroad even if you are not really good at German language do not afraid to use such chance because it will be an experience to remember and also a plus for your CV in further careers :)

I hereby would like to use the opportunity to thank HOTEL SCHOOL RIGA for being so flexible and enthusiastic towards my education. Without your efforts it would not be possible for me to get my degree in such a fast manner. Thank you very much for being supportive and understanding throughout the 2015-2016 academic year. The time spent at HOTEL SCHOOL college has given only benefits towards my education, not only educationally but also it has impacted my personal development. Sometimes it was difficult and a little bit frustrating as there was so many things to do and i was missing my family and friends in the Netherlands, however once I look back at it now, I do not regret any of the time I spent there. HOTEL SCHOOL has also helped me to stand strong on my feet here in the Netherlands as I am working in one of the leading online reservation systems – Booking.com. The experience gained in Latvia truly will come hand in hand with my job tasks, as I am working closely with hotels in Latvia and Estonia at the moment

I have chosen HOTEL SCHOOL RIGA out of my interest for the hospitality business and it seemed really appealing to study in Latvia but by British educational standards. The biggest challenge for me was BTEC educational system with its own standards, that are very different from Latvian ones. The system includes a lot of practical approach and methods, where you have to apply a different mindset and techniques to solve problems and find the right solutions. You should be determined and active in the classroom and out of it, if you want to achieve the best results. lectures were very interesting and it was an exciting experience, when i got used to this new educational system. I liked the most open discussions and case studies where you have to express your own opinion and freedom of thought - from the clash of opinions emerges the truth, as they say. Thank you for that :)
