The Student Parliament of HOTEL SCHOOL commemorates Lāčplēsis Day
Latvian Freedom Fighters’ Remembrance Day (Latvian: Lāčplēša diena) is a memorial day for soldiers who fought for the independence of Latvia in 1919. Every year on November 11, the people of Latvia light candles, thus honouring the heroes who gave their lives for our state to exist.
Today, the Student Parliament of HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College organised a lecture on the modern history of Latvia for our Erasmus learners, telling them about the difficult path of our country to independence and guiding them to a candle-lighting ceremony by the Riga Castle that has taken place since 1988.
We appreciate our Student Parliament’s initiative, and thank our collegues Nataša Stoļarova and Marija Ņikiforova for supporting them!
