The project “ECVET in Hospitality” Nr. 2020-1-LV01-KA102-077265, Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Learning mobility of individuals, is completed
The project “ECVET in Hospitality” was implemented by vocational education institutions and employers in Latvia, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, and Italy from July 2020 to February 2022. The target audience of the project were learners and recent graduates of continuing vocational education programs in the field of hotels and catering services, as well as vocational education specialists involved in the implementation of these programs. During the project HOTEL SCHOOL learners participated in internship mobilities in Spain, Greece, Cyprus, and Italy for up to three months, and HOTEL SCHOOL graduates participated in internship mobilities in Italy for up to 12 months. At the same time, HOTEL SCHOOL vocational training specialists carried out learning mobility in Mediterranean hotels for 1 week, as well as teaching mobility in an Italian educational institution for 3 weeks.
The learners, recent graduates and vocational education specialists involved in the project improved their foreign language skills, intercultural communication skills; gained understanding of the provision of unique Mediterranean resort hotel services, application of the latest technologies in hospitality, integration of the principles of sustainable tourism into the daily operations of hotels and current trends in the operation of hospitality businesses, such as the provision of epidemiologically safe services. Learners and recent graduates developed the ability to perform professional duties in accordance with the standards adopted in the profession, learned to take responsibility, plan their time, work individually and in a team, perform the assigned duties independently, thus increasing their competitiveness in the labour market. In addition, vocational education specialists identified opportunities to improve the curriculum, methods, and organization of the educational process to better adapt educational programs to the ongoing trends of the modern hospitality industry and the requirements of employers. Finally, all organizations involved in the project increased their capacity to operate at the EU and international level.
