“A World of Cuisine”: the Mobility of Students in Latvia, Day 2
Participating in Erasmus activities is as interesting as organizing them!
On September 27, 2022, the second day of the training of the Erasmus+ project “A World of Cuisine” (project No. 2021-1-TR-KA210VET-000029335), together with our partners Dr. Sadık Ahmet Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi (Turkey) and Colegiul Vasile Lovinescu (Romania) we went outside the capital to visit various food production companies. First, we learned the secrets of cheese making craft at the artisan cheese factory “Soira” in Ādaži town. Soira welcomed us not only with the story of cheese making, but also with cheese tasting, allowing us to explore brand new tastes, smells, and textures.
Afterwards we visited Ādažu Čipsi potato chips factory, getting acquainted with the production plant and chip-making technologies. Moreover, we even tried the profession of food technologists, developing our own unique chip recipe!
Throughout the active day, we also managed to see historic Latvian houses, barns, and mills in the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia, thus learning about the cooking conditions and available technologies of the past.
HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College says special “Thank you” to our colleague, career consultant Inna Kučera, whose initiative and proactive attitude has made this day truly special!
The project “A World of Cuisine”, No. 2021-1-TR-KA210VET-000029335, is co-financed by the European Union.
