VIII International Applied Research Conference including a roundtable discussion with hospitality experts and stakeholders

On May 19, 2025, a Round Table Discussion took place as part of the VIII International Applied Research Conference, an event that brought together students, partners, and industry representatives. The conference, including the round table discussion with hospitality experts and stakeholders, was organized by HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in numerous inspirational and informative sessions. Among the keynote speakers, Danilo Di Pasquale from Italy presented the topics “Technology and Humanity: Balancing Automation and Empathy in Human-Centered Business” and “Toyota Hotel: Hospitality Inspired by the Toyota Production System.” In addition, PhD Yuliia Remyha from Ukraine delivered a presentation titled “Digital and Sustainable Development of Vocational Education in Times of Crisis.”

HOTEL SCHOOL students showcased a range of high-quality research projects focused on AI transformation in the hospitality industry, demonstrating strong analytical and practical perspectives. Furthermore, partner organizations presented their case studies on the topic “AI in Hospitality and Education: Readiness for the Twin Transition. Impact of the CB-VET Project on Stakeholders.”

A dedicated round table discussion addressed the challenges and opportunities associated with the use of artificial intelligence in hospitality and education.

The round table discussion was moderated by O. Zvereva, who guided stakeholders through the following key questions:

  • What is the long-term vision for AI in education and hospitality, and how can strategies be aligned to ensure human-centered progress?
  • What mechanisms are needed to ensure feedback and accountability in AI systems?
  • Who is responsible when AI systems make mistakes?
  • How do cultural differences influence the adoption and perception of AI in hospitality and education?
  • Are there global versus local expectations for AI interaction?
  • What are the risks of over-reliance on AI in customer service and educational delivery?
  • What happens when AI systems fail or behave unpredictably?
  • In what ways might AI increase inequality or access gaps in education and hospitality

In addition, a practical workshop was proposed, focusing on the following tasks:

  • Designing a smart, AI-driven classroom or hotel concept that enhances human connection
  • Developing a staff–AI training model that fosters trust and effective collaboration
