Research support activities

HOTEL SCHOOL Research and Projects Department regularly organizes various research support events – seminars, conferences, as well as publishes a collection of scientific research articles. In this section, we publish the latest research support programs and other materials.

VII International Applied Research and Project Results Dissemination Conference “NO LEFTOVER Nordic/Baltic Culinary Arts” – 29.04.2024.

On Monday, April 29, 2024, HOTEL SCHOOL team, students, project partners, and guests gathered at the VII International Applied Research and Project Results Dissemination Conference “NO LEFTOVER Nordic/Baltic Culinary Arts”.

The event was packed with insightful presentations about the project partners and project results. Our guests from Lithuania, Iceland, Denmark, and Estonia extensively elaborated on the introduction of the NO LEFTOVER approach in the culinary traditions of their countries, both in the past and now.

During the second part of the conference, HOTEL SCHOOL students presented the results of their conducted research. We are truly inspired by the diligence and analytical thinking demonstrated by them!

VI International Methodic and Project Results Dissemination Conference “NSustainable Hospitality Digitalisation Toolkit” – 17.01.2024.

On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, HOTEL SCHOOL staff, students, partners and invited guests participated in the project results dissemination conference of the project “Sustainable Hospitality Digitalisation Toolkit”.

During the event, the project manager, Mg. paed, MIB Olga Zvereva, Chair of the Council, Development Director, presented the developed toolkit for fostering sustainable hospitality digitalisation:

Sustainable Hospitality Digitalisation Guidebook for VET Learners and Professionals (initial, continuous learners)
Pedagogy of Sustainable Hospitality Digitalisation for VET Educators and hospitality business field coaches and team leads
Digital course “Sustainable Hospitality Digitalisation Toolkit” with materials
Series of Webinars on Sustainable Hospitality Digitalisation.

International Applied Research Conference “BUSINESS MODELS POST-CORONA IN THE HOSPITALITY AND M.I.C.E. INDUSTRY” – 30.05.2023

On May 30, 2023, HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College organised an International Applied Research Conference BUSINESS MODELS POST-CORONA IN THE HOSPITALITY AND M.I.C.E. INDUSTRY in the framework of the Nordplus Horizontal project No. NPHZ-2021/10064.

The International Applied Research and Project Results Dissemination Conference was aimed to present the developed teaching and learning materials for the hospitality learners with a review of suggested ways of operating within the hospitality sector in the post-Corona times, with a specific focus on the Nordic/Baltic countries including Latvia, Denmark, and Iceland. More specifically, HOTEL SCHOOL Project manager and Development director Olga Zvereva presented two books, developed in the course of the project:

Handbook Business Models Post-Corona in the Hospitality Industry” (by Olga Zvereva, MIB, Mg. paed., Björn M. Sigurjónsson, B.Sc, MPhil, ML., and Bettina Lyngdal Baumgarten)

Handbook The Hospitality & M.I.C.E. Industry Analysis” (by Olga Zvereva, MIB, Mg. paed.)

The invited conference speakers from Latvia, Denmark, Iceland, USA, and Switzerland enlightened the participants over recovery practices that hospitality and M.I.C.E. industry’s company apply. The future of hospitality and M.I.C.E. markets was also discussed.

We thank all the participants for their time and active engagement in the activities of the conference!

International seminars and conferences organized by HOTEL SCHOOL invite both local and foreign lecturers and researchers, as well as hospitality practitioners. It also gives an opportunity to students to gain their first experience of presenting the results of their research and developing scientific publications, which are later included in HOTEL SCHOOL conference or seminar proceedings.
